The NSW Department of Education has taken a significant step forward in open data with the launch of the Education Insights Hub on Data.NSW. This new digital destination consolidates publicly available education datasets into a central location, offering users an intuitive way to explore key education data across the state.
Developed in partnership with the NSW Department of Customer Service (DCS), the project represents months of cross-agency collaboration to reimagine how education data is accessed, understood and utilised.
At the heart of the Hub are three new interactive dashboards, each designed to elevate some of the most commonly requested data sets: school profiles, enrolment trends and attendance statistics.
The successful launch is thanks to close collaboration between teams across both departments. Special thanks go to colleagues at Data Analytics Centre at NSW DCS for their technical support and shared vision. Recognition is also due to the many internal contributors whose guidance, feedback and domain expertise helped shape a tool that will benefit a wide audience for years to come.
The new Hub stands as a meaningful example of what’s possible when government works across silos to serve the public good.
